Abali HotelThis is Abali Hotel (آبعÙÙ) which is now abandoned. The outer sign says ENTERANCE IS ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN! and the inner sign says Welcome! to some govermental complex.
About 8 years ago this place was still open to public an I spend a night there in the empty hotel in its most luxurious room. This was one Reza Shah's resortes in the late 1930-40s. I build many modern places in Iran and possesed many places by force as well. The place became cabaret in times after Reza shah and after revolution it was almost abandoned. This place and the surrounding area was a refuge camp for my family and many Tehranian citizens in the Iran-Iraq war, when Saddam was demolishing Tehran with airstrikes and long range missiles. There was a theart of using chemical weapons by Saddam. Old sad bad days! Now the fences say it all.
